Frequently asked questions about Silicone Oil

Silicone Oil serves as a lubricant, release agent, care product, impregnating agent and mold release agent. It protects tools, molds, seals and plastic parts from heat and chemicals.
It is suitable for damping, defoaming and use in food technology.

Silicone Oil is material friendly and adheres well to metal, plastic, rubber, glass, ceramic and wood without damaging surfaces.

Silicone Oil is insoluble in water and remains stable under moisture. It dissolves in benzene, toluene and many hydrocarbons.

Our Silicone Oil operates reliably in a range from -50 °C to +250 °C. Its high viscosity of 350 cSt at 25 °C and oxidation resistance support use in seals and bearings at high temperatures.

The flash point is above 300 °C.
This makes Silicone Oil difficult to ignite and safe in use.

Apply Silicone Oil with a cloth, a brush, a swab or a spray such as SIL Silicone Oil Spray.
Use a thin and even layer for best results.

Silicone Oil is physiologically safe and contains no toxic or corrosive components.

Do not use Silicone Oil on surfaces that will be painted or bonded later.
The film can significantly reduce adhesion.
